Bluegrass Scholars expands college access and scholarship opportunity for students and families in the Bluegrass region navigating gaps in college knowledge, exposure, and support through structured advising, scholarship strategy, and family-centered education.
We serve a wide range of students and families who share one thing in common: they need greater guidance navigating the college process. That includes first-generation college students whose parents never attended college, students "in the middle" who are academically motivated but not receiving individualized college counseling, and college-adjacent families where a parent may hold a degree but has been so far removed from the process that today's admissions, financial aid, and scholarship landscape feels unfamiliar. If a family is looking for structured support and doesn't know where to turn, Bluegrass Scholars was built for them.
A future where Central Kentucky students confidently pursue college beyond what feels "safe," and families are equipped to support them every step of the way.
Access Without Barriers - Every student deserves expert college guidance regardless of their family's background or resources. Our services are always free.
Family as Foundation - We don't just serve students. We partner with families. Parents and guardians are equipped, informed, and empowered throughout the entire process.
Fit Over Prestige - We guide students toward the college that is the right academic, financial, and personal fit, not just the most recognizable name.
Relationship-Driven - Every scholar has a dedicated advocate who knows their story.
Community-Rooted - We are from here, we serve here, and we invest here.
Transparency & Accountability - We track outcomes, share results honestly, and hold ourselves to the same high standards we set for our scholars.
Bluegrass Scholars serves students and families in Fayette County (Lexington, Kentucky) and surrounding Central Kentucky region counties, including Scott, Jessamine, Woodford, Clark, Madison, and Bourbon counties.
Natasha brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education and college access work. After years of watching first-generation students fall through the cracks, not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked access to the right guidance at the right time, she founded Bluegrass Scholars to close that gap in the Central Kentucky region.
Bluegrass Scholars is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity recognized by the IRS. All contributions are tax-deductible.
2026 is our Foundation Year. This is the year we lay every brick of the foundation, governance, programming, partnerships, and community trust, so that Bluegrass Scholars can grow with integrity for years to come.
During the Foundation Year, we are launching the inaugural Admit Bound Academy cohort of 12–15 scholars, hosting community workshops across the Bluegrass region, building partnerships with schools, community organizations, and supporters, and establishing organizational infrastructure.
